Orangeburg, NY (10/20/10) The Dominican College men's soccer team improved to 9-3-2 overall after defeating the Dolphins from Le Moyne College this afternoon on the DC Soccer Field in non-conference play.
In the 67th minute of play, sophomore midfielder Pedro Franklin De Araujo (Campinas-SP, Brazil) took a shot after a Le Moyne foul. The shot was deflected by a defender and landed in front of junior midfielder John Langdon (Bellport, NY).
Langdon passed the ball to midfielder Sony Narro (Stamford, CT) who sent the ball past the Le Moyne goalkeeper to lead the Chargers to the 1-0 victory.
Junior goalkeeper Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) recorded three saves in the victory.
Prior to the game, Dominican honored seniors John Dumbuya (Boston, MA), James Flaherty (London, England), Clifton Huxtable (Toronto, Ontario), and Alejandro Monsalve (Medellin, Colombia).
Dominican returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) matchup that will be held at 12:00 pm.
