STUDENT-ATHLETE ADVISORY COMMITTEE

What is a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee?

A student-athlete advisory committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and polices that affect student-athletes’ lives on NCAA member institution campuses.

   Mission Statement

“The mission of the Dominican College and the NCAA  Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image.” The other goals are the following:

  • To act as a liaison between the student-athlete body and the Dominican College Administrations, at both the academic and athletic level
  • To design and implement programs that will encourage academic achievement, social responsibility and enhance the entire student-athlete experience
  • To encourage unity, common purpose and camaraderie between teams and among all athletes in the program
  • To express needs and concerns of the Dominican College student-athletes
  • To educate all student-athletes on the NCAA rules and regulations as they pertain to student-athlete welfare
