PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY TOPS LADY CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL
Orangeburg, NY (10/22/11) The Philadelphia University women's volleyball squad topped the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 3-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. Following the loss, Dominican falls to 14-13 overall and 10-6 in conference play, while Philadelphia improves to 14-11 overall and 10-5 in the CACC.

Following the loss, Dominican falls to 14-13 overall and 10-6 in conference play, while Philadelphia improves to 14-11 overall and 10-5 in the CACC.
The Lady Chargers never trailed in set one, leading by as many as eight points (17-9) en route to the 25-20 victory.
Dominican had an early lead in the second set, but the Rams fought back to tie the set at 15-15. From there neither team led by more than two points and with the score being 28-all, a Ram kill and DC attack error led Philadelphia to the 30-28 win.
Philadelphia pulled out set three, 25-17 and got the 3-1 match victory with a 25-23 set four win.
Junior Michelle Fiorvant (Commack, NY) led the Lady Chargers with a match leading 18 kills. Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) added 11 kills, while setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) had a match leading 42 assists and tallied 24 digs. Libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, TX) led the Lady Charger defense with 35 digs.
Before the match began, the Lady Chargers honored junior Ashley Evdokimo (Reno, NV) who will played her last home match this season as she will be graduating in May.
Dominican is back in action on Thursday when they travel to Post University for a 7pm CACC match.
