WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO CALDWELL COLLEGE

Caldwell, NJ (10/18/11)  The Dominican College women's volleyball team fell to host Caldwell College, 3-0, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played at the George R. Newman Center.  With the loss Dominican falls to 13-12 overall and 9-5 in the conference, while Caldwell improves to 18-4 overall and 13-1 in the CACC.

The Lady Chargers held a 10-5 lead in the first set when a 9-1 Cougar run turned that deficit into a 14-11 advantage en route to a 25-17 win. 

Caldwell held a 9-3 lead in the second set and led by as many as seven points three time during the set as they went on to the 25-15 win and 2-0 match lead.

Tied 8-8 in set three, the Cougars scored the next six of seven points to go up 14-9 and never looked back as they won 25-22 for the 3-0 match victory.

CACC Player of the Week, Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) led the Lady Chargers with 10 kills and had 15 digs.  Sophomore Randi Garrett (Rockledge, FL) and junior Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) each added seven kills, while libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, TX) recorded 18 defensive digs.  Setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) had 24 assists.

Dominican returns to action Thursday evening when they travel to Bloomfield College for a 7pm CACC contest.
