HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY TOPS WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Orangeburg, NY (10/1/11) The visiting Tigers of Holy Family University topped the Dominican College women's volleyball team, 3-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win, Holy Family University improves to 11-9 overall and 8-0 in the conference, while Dominican falls to 8-9 overall and 5-2 in the CACC.

DC pulled out the first set 25-23, as Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) recorded a kills to break a 22-22 tie. Back-to-back kills by Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) and Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) put the Lady Chargers at set point (24-22), but an attack error brought the Tigers within a point at 24-23. Ranger got the set winning kill to give DC a 1-0 lead.
The Tigers roared back in set two with a 25-17 victory and managed a 26-24 set three win to take a 2-0 match lead. Holy Family University never trailed in set four en route to the 25-17 win and 3-1 match victory.
Fiorvanti led one of three Lady Chargers in double-digits in kills with 15 on the day. Freshman Kayla Dexter (Selah, WA) talled 11 kills, while Heard had 10 kills. Ranger finished with a match leading 44 assists, while libero Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) tallied 27 defensive digs in the loss.
Domincian returns to action tomorrow morning when they take on Le Moyne College in a non-conference match slated to begin at 11am on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
