LADY CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL WINNING STREAK SNAPPED BY WEST CHESTER UNIVERSITY
West Chester, PA (9/27/11) The Dominican College women's volleyball team had a two match winning streak snapped by West Chester University this evening after falling to the host, 3-1, in a non-conference match played in the Hollinger Fieldhouse. With the loss, Dominican now stands at 8-7 overall, while West Chester University improves to 12-6.

With the loss, Dominican now stands at 8-7 overall, while West Chester University improves to 12-6.
Tied 15-15 in the first set, WCU went on an 8-3 run to go ahead 23-18 en route to the 25-21 victory. The Golden Rams quickly jumped ahead in the set two, 7-1, and never looked back to the 25-17 win and 2-0 match lead.
The third set was tied 23-all when Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) recorded a kill to give DC a 24-23 lead and N'Jameh Philip (Monroe, NY) ended the set with a service ace for the 25-23 Lady Chargers win.
Dominican took a 2-0 lead in the fourth set, but a 10-3 West Chester run put them ahead 10-5 and they cruised to the 25-15 set win and 3-1 match victory.
Heard led the Lady Chargers with 10 kills and recorded 11 digs in the match. Freshman Kayla Dexter (Selah, WA) and outside hitter Randi Garrett (Rockledge, FL) each added seven kills, while libero had a team leading 19 digs. Setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) led the team with 30 assists in the loss.
Dominican is back in action on Thursday evening when they host Post University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match to be played on Coach Baxter Court at 7pm.
