VOLLEYBALL SPLITS ON FINAL DAY OF YELLOW JACKET INVITATIONAL
Springfield, MA (9/11/11) The Dominican College women's volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches held yesterday at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by American International College. Dominican defeated Holy Family University, 3-0, but fell in the night cap to Dowling College, 0-3. With the split, Dominican now stands at 3-5 overall.

Springfield, MA (9/11/11) The Dominican College women's volleyball team split a pair of non-conference matches held yesterday at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by American International College. Dominican defeated Holy Family University, 3-0, but fell in the night cap to Dowling College, 0-3. With the split, Dominican now stands at 3-5 overall.
Match One: In their first match of the day, the Lady Chargers defeated the Tigers 25-22, 25-18, 25-20.
Junior Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) led Dominican with seven kills. Freshman Kayla Dexter (Selah, WA) added six kills, while setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) had a great match with six kills and 25 assists. Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX), N'Jameh Philip (Monroe, NY) and Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) led the way defensively with 12 and 10 digs respectively.
Match Two: Dowling defeated Dominican 25-18, 25-20, 25-20 to improve to 6-2 on the season.
Sophomore Randi Garrett (Rockledge, FL) led Dominican in the match with nine kills. Philip added five kills and 10 digs, while Ranger added 20 assists in the loss. Fuller led the team with 12 digs.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday night when they host Bloomfield College at 7pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
