WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FINISHES REGULAR SEASON WITH VICTORY
Orangeburg, NY (2/21/12) The Dominican College women's basketball team ended the 2011-12 regular season with a 62-57 victory over the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College this evening on Senior Night at the Hennessy Center. With the victory Dominican improves to 13-13 overall and 12-7 in the conference, while Felician ends the regular season at 17-9 overall and 14-5 in the CACC.

Dominican trailed 28-24 at the end of the first half and was behind 41-33 with 11:43 to go in the second stanza when juniors Bianca Harris (Teaneck, NJ) and Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) led DC on a 12-0 run to give the Lady Chargers their first lead of the contest, 45-41. Dominican led by as many as seven points (52-45) with under five minutes to play when the Golden Falcons scored seven unanswered points to cut the lead to 52-51.
Up 54-53 with 38 ticks on the clock, the Lady Chargers went 8-8 from the free throw line to secure the 62-57 victory. Lopez was 6-6 from the charity stripe in that span, including the final two points of the game.
Lopez led all scorers with 20 points in the game, going 11-11 from the foul line, and tallied five assists.
KC Jentzen (Pearl River, NY) recorded 10 points, while Harris finished with eight points and a game leading 10 rebounds off the bench. Senior Marley Klunk (York, PA) scored eight points and six caroms in the win.
During halftime, the Lady Chargers honored seniors M. Kunk, Samantha Klunk (York, PA), Kaity Lent (Vineland, NJ) and Meghan Murphy (Carmel, NY) who played their final game on Coach Baxter Court.
DC will open CACC playoff action this weekend on the road where they will take on the No. 2 seed from the CACC South Divsion.
