WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEAT NYACK COLLEGE
Nyack, NY (1/26/12) The Dominican College women's basketball team defeated host, Nyack College, 62-46, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest held at the Bowman Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 8-7 overall and 8-2 in conference play, while Nyack falls to 1-13 overall and 1-8 in the CACC.
Nyack led 9-8 with 13:30 to go in the first half, when the Lady Chargers charged back with an 16-2 run to go ahead 24-11 and increased the lead to 35-18 at the intermission.
Dominican led by as many as 20 points twice during the second half as they cruised to the 62-46 victory.
Junior Bianca Harris (Teaneck, NJ) led all scorers with the game's only double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Marley Klunk (York, PA) added nine points, while KC Jentzen (Nanuet, NY) came off the bench to score eight points and six rebounds in the victory.
DC returns to action on Saturday when they host Wilmington University. Game time is slated for 1pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
