Philadelphia, PA (10/23/10) Sophomore forward, Alex Rodier (Williamstown, NJ), converted a penalty kick to record the game winning and his team leading eighth goal of the season this afternoon as the Dominican College men's soccer team defeated host, Philadelphia University, 2-1.
The Chargers took a 1-0 lead in the 36th minute of play as junior midfielder John Langdon (Bellport, NY) scored his third goal of the season off the assist from senior Alejandro Monsalve (Medellin, Columbia).
Rodier's game winner game at the 51:44 mark off of the penalty kick. The Rams got a goal back in the 74th minute after being awarded a penalty kick for the final 2-1 score.
Dominican keeper Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) made 10 saves in the victory.
With the win Dominican improves to 10-3-2 overall and 6-2-2 in the CACC.
DC is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Mercy College for a non-conference game slated to begin at 3pm.
