MEN'S SOCCER SUFFERS TOUGH OVERTIME LOSS TO BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE

Orangeburg, NY (9/21/10) A dramatic goal scored with 1:30 seconds left in the first overtime propelled the visiting Deacons of Bloomfield College to a 2-1 victory over Dominican College this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game held on the DC Soccer Field.

Orangeburg, NY (9/21/10)  A dramatic goal scored with 1:30 seconds left in the first overtime propelled the visiting Deacons of Bloomfield College to a 2-1 victory over Dominican College this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game held on the DC Soccer Field.

Junior Carlos Brufau (West Orange, NJ) launched the game winning shot that was deflected by the Charger goalie, but the deflection caused the ball to cross the crease and was signaled a a goal by the official to give BC the 2-1 victory.

Dominican scored the game's first goal as sophomore midfielder Sony Narro (Stamford, CT) tallied his third goal of the season off the assist from junior Alan Heavey (Huntington Station, NY) to take a 1-0 lead in teh 28th minute of action.

The Deacons tied the contest at 60:43 when Terry Gibbs (London, England) scored a goal of the pass from Juan Ramirez (Medellin, Columbia).

Bloomfield outshot the Chargers 18-7 and held a 12-5 advantage in corner kicks.

Charger goalie Brandon Heembrock (Ottawa, Canada) had seven saves in the loss.

Deacon keeper Steven Alonso (Kearny, NJ) had three saves.

Following the loss Dominican drops to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the CACC, while Bloomfield improves to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in the CACC.

The Chargers return to action on Saturday when they travel to Holy Family University for a CACC contest.
