CHARGERS TAKE DOWN YELLOW JACKETS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/12/26) The Dominican University New York men's lacrosse team earned a non-conference win this afternoon over the Yellow Jackets of American International College by a score of 14-11 on O'Brien Field.
The Chargers get their second straight win in as many days on a second half of a back to back and improve to 3-2 overall. AIC falls to 1-4 overall after the loss.
Dominican got on the board first after a Steven Dupras goal before Jordan Boyenko scored AIC's first goal less than a minute later.
Dominican scored three unanswered goals before AIC added their second goal before the end of the first quarter.
The Chargers outscored the Yellow Jackets 3-2 in the second quarter and took a 7-4 lead into halftime.
Chad Keyser scored two early goals in the third and Nickolas Paletta added a goal while Dupras scored late for the 11-7 lead by the start of the fourth.
AIC cut the lead to 11-9 with 6:46 left to play in the game. Three unanswered goals combined by Evan Dupras and Steven Dupras extended the lead to 14-9 and later the Chargers secured the 14-11 win.
Steven Dupras finished with a team-high five goals while Evan Dupras scored one goal and picked up four assists, four groundballs, and one caused turnover.
Keyser finished with three goals while Sean Cosgrove and Zachary Souza each scored twice. Cosgrove also added three assists, four groundballs, and caused two turnovers. Nickolas Paletta added one goal and picked up two assists.
Sean Bradley led the team in caused turnovers with three and Michael Aufiero picked up four groundballs.
Goalkeeper Nicholas Creisher recorded his thrid win of the season in net while making 18 saves and picked up three groundballs.
The Chargers return to action on Saturday when they open conference play on the road against Chestnut Hill College.
