CROSS COUNTRY FINISH THIRD AT CACC CHAMPIONSHIIPS
Philadelphia, PA (10/23/11) The Dominican College women's cross country team finished in third place at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships which were held this morning at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, PA. Philadelphia University took home their fourth straight CACC Championship with all five runners finishing in the top 11.
Philadelphia, PA (10/23/11) The Dominican College women's cross country team finished in third place at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championships which were held this morning at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, PA. Philadelphia University took home their fourth straight CACC Championship with all five runners finishing in the top 11.
The Rams won the title with a team score of 21 points, followed by Wilmington University with 61 points and Dominican College rounding out the top three with 67 total points. Georgian Court University came home fourth with a total of 121 points, while Nyack College was fifth with 160. The Warriors claimed the Anne Jackson Memorial Team Sportsmanship Award.
Senior Sarah Dugandzic (Suffern, NY) was the top finisher for the Lady Chargers as she finished the course in a time of 20:19 to finish in sixth place. Sophomore Jessica Avila (Mount Vernon, NY) claimed eighth place with a time of 20:43. Captain Samantha Klunk (York, PA) finished in 12th place with a time of 20:56. All three runners earned All-CACC accolades following the meet.
Krystal Campbell (New Windsor, NY) ran a time of 21:20 to take 19th place, with teammate Renee Roncace (Valley Cottage, NY) finished in 22nd place with a time of 21:35.
Freshman Ashley Ramdin (Cliffside Park, NJ) took 31st place as she ran a time of 22:19 and Keyla Cruz (Bronx, NY) ran the course in 23:29 to take 42nd place.
