CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES NINTH AT FORDHAM FIASCO

Bronx, NY (9/1011)  The Dominican College women's cross country team opened up the 2011 season with a ninth place finish at the Fordham Fiasco which was held this morning at VanCortlandt Park.

Rowan University took the team title with a score of 26, followed by East Stroudsburg University (53), Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) member Philadelphia University (74), Richard Stockton College (155), Ramapo College (170), St. Thomas Aquinas College (176), St. Joseph's College (205), Molloy College (206), Dominican College (235), Nyack College (264), Drew University (290) and Suffolk Community College (352).

Sophomore Krystal Campbell (New Windsor, NY) was the top finisher for the Lady Chargers as she ran a time of 21:27.71 to finish 27th out of 148 participants.  Senior Sarah Dugandzic (Suffern, NY) took 38th place with a time of 21:45.55.

Jessica Avila (Mount Vernon, NY) finished 64th overall after running a time of 22:57.15, while Samantha Klunk (York, PA) ran a time of 23:48.81 to finish in 87th place.

Freshman Ashley Ramdin (Cliffside Park, NJ) took 96th place with a time of 24:13.99 and teammate Keyla Cruz (Bronx, NY) ran a time of 24:40.33 to finish in 101 place.

Junior Sharrika Brent (Brooklyn, NY) finished in 145 place with a time of 30:32.64, while Talisha Peeler (Bridgeport, CT) ran a time of 30:52.15 to finish in 147 place.

The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday, September 24th when they participate in the Philadelphia Metro Championships.
