WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE
Bloomfield, NJ (10/20/11) The Dominican College women's volleyball team completed the season sweep of Bloomfield College after defeating the host, 3-0, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played at the Bloomfield Gym. With the victory, Dominican improves to 14-12 overall and 10-5 in the CACC, while Bloomfield falls to 6-13 overall and 5-11 in conference play.

The first set was a tight battle as neither team led by more than two points throughout the set. Tied at 23-23, back-to-back Deacon errors allowed the Lady Chargers to come away with the 25-23 win.
Tied at 4-all in set two, DC went on a 11-3 tear to pull ahead 15-8 en route to a 25-14 win and 2-0 match lead.
Dominican was two points away from the match win in the third set (23-19), when BC scored three straight points to cut the lead to a points at 23-22. A kill from Kayla Dexter (Selah, WA) put DC at match point, but a Deacon kill once again brought them within a point (24-23). Junior outside hitter Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) close out the match with a kill for the 25-23 set win and 3-0 victory.
Fiorvanti led Dominican with nine kills on the evening. Dexter finished with eight kills and a .300 attack percentage, while setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) recorded six kills (.330 attack percentage) and a team leading 24 assists in the win. Libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, TX) led the team with seven defensive digs.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Saturday when they host Philadelphia University in a 2pm CACC match to be played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
