Philadelphia, PA (9/25/10) The Dominican College women's volleyball team topped Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Holy Family University, 3-2 this afternoon to break a five match losing streak and improve to 6-12 overall and 3-2 in CACC play.
Philadelphia, PA (9/25/10) The Dominican College women's volleyball team topped Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Holy Family University, 3-2 this afternoon to break a five match losing streak and improve to 6-12 overall and 3-2 in CACC play.
Dominican jumped out to a 2-0 match lead after winning sets one and two, 25-12 and 25-23. The Tigers roared back to take sets three and four, 23-25 and 20-25, but in the crucial fifth set the Lady Chargers pulled out the 15-12 win for teh 3-2 victory.
Sophomore outside hitter Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) led all attackers with a season high 16 kills in the match.
Freshman Randi Garrett (Rockledge, FL) had 11 kills, while Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) and setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) each tallied nine kills in the match, with Ranger adding 42 assists.
Libero Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) had a career high 37 digs in the win.
DC returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Felician College for a 7pm CACC match.
