2012 Dominican College Women’s Soccer Season Summary
The Lady Chargers soccer team finished the season with an overall record of 6-8-1 and a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record of 5-6-1.
Dominican finished in a two-way tie for eighth place in the conference. Tied with Felician College, the Lady Chargers lost the tie-breaker to the Golden Falcons and thus missed a berth in the CACC Tournament.
Junior Olivia Antonopoulos led the team in scoring and points this season. She earned one CACC Player of the Week honors this season.
Rookie Elisa Falzarano finished second on the team in scoring and tied for second in points.
Senior Nicolle Sanchez and junior Danielle Klecha led the Lady Chargers in assists.
Veronica Iozzi started all 15 games in the net for the Lady Chargers. She finished the season of a goals against average (GAA) of 1.78 and a .728 save percentage.
The team will say good-bye to three seniors this season: Sanchez, defender and two-year captain, Jade Fletcher and defender Rachel Romanowski.
With the loss of three talented players, head coach Lona Ozrek will rely on the nine members of the senior class in 2013 to lead the team.
