WOMEN'S SOCCER FALL IN DOUBLE OVERTIME TO WILMINGTON UNIVERSITY

(9/8/12) The Dominican College women's soccer team suffered a tough double overtime loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Wilmington University 2-1 this afternoon in a game played at the DC Soccer Field. With the loss the Lady Chargers now stand at 0-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.

(9/8/12) The Dominican College women's soccer team suffered a tough double overtime loss to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe, Wilmington University 2-1 this afternoon in a game played at the DC Soccer Field. With the loss the Lady Chargers now stand at 0-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Junior midfielder Danielle Romano (Plainview, N.Y.) tallied the first goal of the contest on a penalty kick opportunity at the 27:50 mark.
Dominican held the 1-0 lead until the 87th minute when the Wildcats tied the contest to force overtime. With just under three minutes remaining in the second overtime, WU scored the game-winning goal on a penalty kick fro the 2-1 victory.
The Wildcats controlled the offensive end of the game, outshooting the Lady Chargers 27-5 and holding an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Goalie Veronica Iozzi (Chester, N.J.) made 12 saves in the loss.
DC is back in action on September 11th as they travel to Post University.
