2011 Dominican College Women’s Soccer Season Summary
The Lady Chargers soccer team finished the season with an overall record of 8-7-2 and a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) record of 6-4-2. Late in the season, Dominican went on a five-game winning streak to help secure a CACC playoff berth.
Dominican finished in seventh place in the conference and earned the seventh seed for the CACC Tournament. The Lady Chargers upset the #2 seed, Felician College, 3-1 in a quarter-final game. Junior Jamilyn Snyder scored all three goals in the victory. DC then faced Holy Family University, the sixth seed, in a semi-final contest and fell to the eventual tournament champions, 3-2.
Snyder led the team in goals scored and points this season, while tying for the team lead in assists. For her efforts, she was named to the All-CACC Second Team and to the All-CACC Tournament Team.
Sophomore Olivia Antonopoulos finished second on the team in goals and tied for the team lead in assists. Rookie Jennifer Becker had a nice first-year and earned one CACC Rookie of the Week honors.
Kaitlyn Hertz saw fourteen games in the Lady Charger net and finished the season with a 1.99 goals against average (GAA) and a .761 save percentage. Veronica Iozzi played in four games this season and had a GAA of 2.37 and a .655 save percentage.
