ROMANO'S GOAL LIFTS LADY CHARGERS TO 3-2 DOUBLE OVERTIME VICTORY
Nyack, NY (10/5/11) Sophomore midfielder Danielle Romano (Plainview, NY) netted the game-wining goal 24 seconds into the second overtime to give the Dominican College Lady Chargers soccer team a thrilling 3-2 victory over host, Nyack College, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played this afternoon.

Nyack, NY (10/5/11) Sophomore midfielder Danielle Romano (Plainview, NY) netted the game-wining goal 24 seconds into the second overtime to give the Dominican College Lady Chargers soccer team a thrilling 3-2 victory over host, Nyack College, in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played this afternoon.
Dominican got on the board early in the second half (47:38) when junior Jamilyn Snyder (Lacey, NJ) netted an unassisted goal on a shot inside the box for a 1-0 lead.
A minute and twenty seconds later, the Lady Chargers added to the lead as midfielder Danielle Klecha (Jamesburg, NJ) received a pass from Snyder and headed the ball passed the Warrior keeper to give DC a 2-0 lead.
Nyack answered with back-to-back goals in the 79th and 82nd minute to tie the contest at 2-all and to force the overtime.
Just 24 seconds into the second overtime, Romano took a shot after a pass from Olivia Antonopoulos (Baldwin, NY) from just inside the 40 yard line and it sailed over the Warrior keeper's head and into the net to give Dominican the 3-2 victory.
Nyack outshot Dominican 16-8 and held an 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Lady Charger keeper Kaitlyn Hertz (Voorhees, NJ) made eight saves in the victory.
With the win, Dominican improves to 3-6-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the CACC.
DC returns to action on Tuesday when they host Concordia College in conference play scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm on the DC Soccer Field.
