WOMEN'S SOCCER TAKES DOWN ST. THOMAS AQUINAS COLLEGE
Orangeburg, NY (9/28/11) The Dominican College women's soccer team defeated the visiting Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College, 4-2, this afternoon in a non-conference soccer game played on a rainy day at the DC Soccer Field. With the victory Dominican improves to 2-5-1 overall, while STAC falls to 1-6 on the season.

Sophomore forward Olivia Antonopoulos (Baldwin, NY) led the offense for the Lady Chargers with two goals on the afternoon.
Antonopoulos netted the first goal of the game at the 12:41 mark after receiving a ball from freshman Jordan Flavell-Boney (Northvale, NJ) for the 1-0 lead.
With 2:03 seconds to play in the first half, junior Jamilyn Snyder (Lacey, NJ) recorded her fourth goal of the season off the pass from junior Nicolle Sanchez (Lyndhurst, NJ) to give the Lady Chargers a 2-0 lead.
In the 61st minute of action sophomore midfielder Danielle Romano (Plainview, NY) scored her first goal of the year to extend the DC lead to 3-0.
A Spartan goal in the 73rd minute cut the deficit to 3-1, but Antonopoulos struck for her second goal of the game off the assist from Stephanie Falzarano (Roslyn Heights, NY) to regain a three goal lead.
STAC netted the final goal of the game at 81:58 for the final 4-2 score and Lady Charger victory.
Both teams had 14 shots in the game, while DC had a 13-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Lady Charger keeper Kaitlyn Hertz (Voorhees, NJ) made five saves in the net.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Goldey-Beacom College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game scheduled to begin at 1pm.
