Old Westbury, NY (10/6/10) Freshman forward Olivia Antonopoulos (Baldwin, NY) netted the game winning goal and her team leading seventh of the season in the second half as the Dominican College Lady Chargers soccer team edged host New York Institute of Technology, 1-0 this afternoon in a non-conference game.
The game winner came in the 74th minute of play as sophomore Jamilyn Snyder (Lacey, NJ) passed the ball from the top of the box to Antonopoulos who drilled the ball past the Bear keeper for the eventual 1-0 victory.
NYIT held an 11-8 edge in shots and an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Lady Charger goalie Kari Spicer (Littleton, CO) made five saves in the victory.
With the victory Dominican improves to 6-3 overall.
DC is back in action on Saturday when they host Wilmington University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on the DC Soccer Field at 12pm.
