Orangeburg, NY (9/11/10) The Dominican College women's soccer team defeated the visiting Lightning from Goldey-Beacom College, 2-0, this afternoon on opening day of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at the DC Soccer Field.

Orangeburg, NY (9/11/10) The Dominican College women's soccer team defeated the visiting Lightning from Goldey-Beacom College, 2-0, this afternoon on opening day of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at the DC Soccer Field.
The game was scoreless until the 62:57 mark when sophomore forward Jamilyn Snyder (Lacey, NJ) took a shot from the sideline that found the back of the net off the assist from senior Kristen Haycook (Point Pleasant, NJ) for the 1-0 lead.
Senior midfielder Margaret Porter (Neptune, NJ) tallied her first goal of the season off the cross from Snyder in the 88th minute of action for the 2-0 victory.
The Lady Chargers outshot the Lightning 18-8 for the game and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Lady Charger keeper Kari Spicer (Liddleton, CO) made five saves in the victory.
Lightning keeper Alyssa Vetrano (Ocean, NJ) made 13 saves in the loss.
With the victory Dominican improves to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the CACC, while Goldey-Beacom falls to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the CACC.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Concordia College for a 3pm CACC game.
