PORTER NAMED DAKTRONICS ALL-AMERICAN AND ECAC ALL-STAR

Orangeburg, NY (12/3/09) Dominican College women's soccer player, Margaret Porter, has been named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-America Second Team and a Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Star as was announced by Daktronics and the ECAC this week.
Porter, a junior midfielder from Neptune, NJ, led
both the team and finished second in the CACC in goals scored
(17). She led the team and CACC in shots (109) and finished
second in shots per game (5.20) and points (36).
Porter is the team captain this season.
In 2009 she was named to the All-CACC First Team after earning Honorable Mention honors in 2008. She was named the CACC Player of the Week for the week ending October 25th and started all 19 games this season.
She was named to the Daktronics East Region First Team prior to her earning All-American honors.
Sports information directors from NCAA D-II schools and
conferences selected the three
Daktronics All-America teams. The process begins at the regional
level with all first team all-region picks advancing to the
national ballot. This is the fourth year Daktronics has sponsored
the NCAA D-II Women’s Soccer All-America and all-region
teams. A total of 39 student-athletes representing 23 different
institutions filled out the three teams.
