Orangeburg, NY (11/17/09)  Dominican College women's soccer player, Margaret Porter, has been named to the 2009 Daktronics, Inc East Region First Team as was announced today.  Porter is one of 13 student-athletes named to first-team all-region honors in voting powered by ATHLETICSITE.COM and conducted among sports information directors at NCAA Division II institutions that are members of the Central Atlantic Collegiate (CACC), East Coast and Northeast 10 Conferences.

Porter, a junior midfielder from Neptune, NJ, led both the team and finished second in the CACC in goals scored (17).  She led the team and CACC in shots (109) and finished second in shots per game (5.20) and points (36).  Porter is the team captain this season.  In 2009 she was named to the All-CACC First Team and earned Honorable Mention honors in 2008.  She was named the CACC Player of the Week for the week ending October 25th and has started all 19 games this season.
