#6 WOMEN'S SOCCER FALL TO #2 GEORGIAN COURT IN CACC SEMI-FINALS

New Castle, DE (11/5/09)  The sixth-seeded Dominican College women's soccer team fell to the second-seeded Georgian Court University Lions, 4-0 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) semi-final game held at Wilmington University.

The teams played a scoreless first half with the Lady Chargers holding a 7-5 advantage in shots.

The second half was all GCU as they controlled the offense with four goals on 11 shots to just five shots for DC.

For the game the Lions outshot the Lady Chargers 16-12, while holding a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

Lady Charger keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) made five saves in the loss.

With the loss, the Lady Chargers (9-6-4) are eliminated from the CACC Tournament, while Lions (15-7) advance to the CACC Championship game scheduled for Saturday at Wilmington University.
