TWO WOMEN'S SOCCER PLAYERS NAMED TO ALL-CACC TEAM

Orangeburg, NY (10/29/09) Two players from the Dominican College women's soccer team have been named to the All-CACC Team as was announced by the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Office today.
Margaret Porter (Neptune, NJ) has been named to the All-CACC First Team, while keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) has earned All-CACC Second Team accolades. Nicolle Sanchez (Lyndhurst, NJ) received Honorable Mention honors.
Porter, a junior midfielder, leads both the CACC
and team in goals scored (15), shots, (78), points per game
(2.07)and goals per game (1.00). She leads the team and is
ranked second in the CACC in shots per game (5.20) and points
(31). Porter is the team captain this
season. In 2008 she earned Honorable Mention honors.
She was named the CACC Player of the Week for the week ending
October 25th and has started all 16 games this season.
Sturchio, a senior keeper, has started 15 out of
16 games this season. She ranks second in the CACC in goals
against average (1.37), sixth in save percentage (.812), fourth in
saves (95) and saves per game (6.33).
Sanchez, a rookie defender, has started all 16
games this season. She is second on the team with three goals
and is tied for second on the team with three assists.
The Lady Chargers are currently 7-5-4 overall 6-2-3 in the CACC.
