LADY CHARGERS SOCCER TIE FELICIAN COLLEGE

Orangeburg, NY (10/21/09) The Dominican College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with the visiting Felician College Golden Falcons this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the DC Soccer Field.

Orangeburg, NY (10/21/09)  The Dominican College women's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime tie with the visiting Felician College Golden Falcons this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the DC Soccer Field.

Felician took an early 1-0 lead at 8:03 when senior Jenn Ghiroli (Branford, CT) netted the unassisted goal.

The Lady Chargers did not get on the board until the 59th minute of action when junior Margaret Porter (Neptune, NJ) tallied her team leading 13th goal of the season off the cross from senior Rosa Centurion (Mamaroneck, NY) to tie the game at 1-1.

Both teams had chances in the overtime periods with Dominican having a goal waved off because of an offsides call.

Felician goalie Allie Couzo (Sayreville, NJ) made nine saves in the tie.

Dominican keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) recorded three saves.

DC controlled the offensive end of the game, outshooting the Golden Falcons 32-11.

With the tie Dominican now stands at 5-5-4 overall and 4-2-3 in the CACC, while Felician is now 5-7-2 overall and 4-4-2 in the CACC.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they host Philadelphia University.
