DOMINICAN SPOILS FELICANS SENIOR DAY WITH 2-1 CACC WIN

Rutherford, NJ (10/23/07) Dominican (N.Y.) College's goal in the second minute of the second half held up for a 2-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's soccer victory over host Felician College on Tuesday night at Tryon Field. The match ended the 2007 CACC schedule and home slate for Felician.

Dominican (7-9-1, 5-4-1) broke a 1-1 halftime tie when junior Angela Correia (Elizabeth, NJ) settled a pass over two defenders from teammate Margaret Porter (Neptune, NJ) and put a shot in the lower left corner of the net at 46:16. Felician's best scoring chance after that point came when forward D.J. Jacobowitz (Staten Island, NY) hit a goalpost with a shot in the 68th minute, but the Golden Falcons were held to only one shot attempt in the final 20 minutes of action.

The Golden Falcons (5-11-1, 3-8) scored an own goal with 4:42 remaining in the first half, but recovered to tie the game 68 seconds later when Jenna Krowl (Kearny, NJ) delivered on a 20-yard direct kick. Felician goalkeeper Amanda Musarra (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) stopped one Charger breakaway in each half to keep her team in contention and finished the night with seven saves. Veronica Johnson (Mahopac, NY) earned her first career victory with five saves for Dominican.

Felician's Cassandra Murphy (Staten Island, NY) and Christine Warren (Hasbrouck Heights, NJ) were honored in pre-game Senior Night ceremonies.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they host Chestnut Hill College.  Game time is 12pm at the DC Soccer Field.
