LADY CHARGERS SOCCER UPENDS GOLDEY-BEACOM COLLEGE

Blauvelt, NY (10/13/07)  The Dominican College women's soccer team defeated host Goldey-Beacom College, 3-1 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC)women's soccer game.

With the win, Dominican improves to 5-8-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the CACC, while GBC falls to 1-9-1 overall.

Junior Angela Correia (Elizabeth, NJ) started off the scoring for Dominican with a goal at 8:08 off the pass from Jen Ditzig (Brick, NJ).  Less than two minutes later, freshman Margaret Porter (Neptune, NJ) scored a goal off the dish by Shannon Harding (Marlton, NJ) to give the Lady Chargers a 2-0 lead.

Dominican extended the lead to 3-0 when Jane Dorsey (Ocean Grove, NJ) took a pass from Erin Martin (Stony Point, NY) and put it past the GBC keeper.

GBC got on the board at 54:22 when Katie Attenberger got a pass from Adrianna Polimeni and finished from three yards out for the final 3-1 score.

DC keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) had two saves, while Rosa Centurion (Mamaroneck, NY) also had one save.  GBC keeper Brittany Owens had 18 saves in the loss.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they host Georgian Court University in CACC women's soccer action.  Game time is 2pm at the DC Soccer Field.
