LADY CHARGERS SOCCER DEFEAT BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE DEACONS, 4-1

Blauvelt, NY (10/9/07)       Junior Angela Correia (Elizabeth, NJ) netted two goals and one assist, leading host Dominican College Lady Chargers past Bloomfield College, 4-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this afternoon at the DC Soccer Field.

Correia's first goal game just three minutes into the game off the pass by Shannon Harding (Marlton, NJ).  DC took a 2-0 lead on an own goal, followed by Correia's second goal at 61:02 off the pass by senior Erin Martin (Stony Point, NY) to take a 3-0 lead. 

Dominican went up 4-0 as freshman Margaret Porter (Neptune, NJ) took a pass from Correia and put it past the Deacon keeper.

Bloomfield got on the board at 73:29 as freshman Melissa Torzewski (Glen Garden, NJ) got a pass from senior Sainte Anne Pierre (Haiti) to make the score 4-1. 

Charger keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) had three saves in the win, while Deacon keeper Danielle Blumberg (Bayville, NJ) had 12 saves in the loss.

The Lady Chargers dominated the game, outshooting Bloomfield, 28-5.

With the win, DC improves to 4-8-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the CACC, while Bloomfield falls to 3-10-0 overall and 1-6-0 in the CACC.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Goldey-Beacom College in CACC action.  Game time is slated for  1pm.
