DOMINICAN NAMES OZREK HEAD WOMEN'S SOCCER COACH

Orangeburg, NY (8/1/08)  Dominican College Director of Athletics, Joe Clinton, has announced the hiring of Lona Ozrek as the new head women's soccer coach.

Ozrek comes to Dominican after serving as an assistant coach for the New York Magic of the W-USL.  Prior to that, he was the head coach of the girls' program at Wayne Hills High School for the past four years.  In 2005, Ozrek was named the Passaic County Coach of the Year and guided his team to the Passaic County and NBIAL League Championships.

"I am appreciative of the opportunity that Dominican College has provided me in taking over the women's soccer program," Ozrek said.  "I look forward to working with a group of players that have determination to work hard."

Before moving over to the women's side of the game, he spent three years as an assistant coach for the boys' varsity team at Wayne Hills and one year at Felician College as an assistant coach.

"We are very excited to have Lona join the coaching staff here at DC," said Clinton.  "His enthusiasm and love of the game made him the top candidate for this position."

A 2004 graduate of William Paterson University, Ozrek received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics.
