Blauvelt, NY (9/16/06) The Dominican College women's soccer team tied the Holy Family University Tigers, 1-1 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game this afternoon at the Dominican College Soccer Field.
The Lady Chargers got on the board in the 13th minute of play when Marie LaMaida (New Hyde Park, NY) took a shot that was deflected and got the rebound for a second shot that went past a diving Holy Family University goalkeeper.
Holy Family University senior midfielder Melissa Gamble (Piladelphia, PA) tied the game at 88:52 off a free kick goal.
Tiger keeper Kelly McGrogan (Philadelphia, PA) had five saves, while Lady Charger keeper Valentina Sturchio (Stewartsville, NJ) had seven saves in the game. Holy Family University out shot Dominican 15-11.
The Lady Chargers are back in action on Tuesday, September 19th when they host Post University in a CACC game scheduled for 3:30 pm at the Dominican College Soccer Field.
