Goldey-Beacom Lady Lightning Rally to Defeat Dominican Lady Chargers, 2-1

Blauvelt, NY (9/9/06)  The Goldey-Beacom College Lady Lightning rallied from a 1-0 deficit to defeat the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 2-1 in overtime this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at the Dominican College Soccer Field.

Goldey-Beacom freshman Kasey Honeycutt (Annapolis, MD) netted the game winner at 100:14 off the pass by senior forward Kelli Parsons (Hockessin, DE).

Dominican took an early 1-0 lead as sophomore Marie LaMaida (New Hyde Park, NY) scored her first goal of the season off the assist by junior Tricia Dugan (Florida, NY) in the 14th minute of play.

            The Lady Lightning tied the game at 1-1 when midfielder Katy Ellis (Wilmington, DE) put one by the DC goal keeper off the dish by Shannon Bradbury (Wilmington, DE).

With the win GBC improves to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the CACC, while DC falls to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the CACC.

Dominican is back in action on Monday, September 11 when they host Mercy College in a non-conference game at 3:30pm.
