New Jersey Institute of Technology Tops Dominican, 1-0

Blauvelt, NY (10/5/05) New Jersey Institute of Technology (6-4-1, 6-1-1) topped Dominican College (5-7-1, 4-3-1), 1-0 in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game held at Dominican College this afternoon.

The Lady Highlanders struck early as Erika Taugher (Oakville, Canada) netted a breakaway goal off the assist by junior Aine O’Dwyer (Tipperary, Ireland) at 6:24.

Dominican controlled possession for most of the game, but couldn’t score a goal. Dominican took save shots and had seven corner kicks, while NJIT had four shots and three corner kicks.

Keeper Bruna Lotufo (Sao Paulo, Brazil) posted a shut out for the Lady Highlanders and had two saves, while Lady Charger keeper Allison Comentino (Ellenville, NY) also had two saves.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Saturday, October 8 as they travel to CACC foe Goldey-Beacom College for a 1pm game.
