STRONG SECOND HALF LEADS LINDENWOOD OVER LADY CHARGERS LACROSSE

With the win, Lindenwood improves to 4-1 overall while the Lady Chargers fall to 0-2 on the season .

With the win, Lindenwood improves to 4-1 overall while the Lady Chargers fall to 0-2 on the season .
LU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first two and a half minutes of action before the Lady Chargers got on the board with the unassisted goal by sophomore attacker Brianna Blank (Point Pleasant, NJ). Another 2-0 run regained a two goal advantage for the Lady Lions with 17:46 to go before halftime, but Dominican answered back with two straight goals by senior midfielder Aubree Williams (Great Meadows, NJ) and Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, NY) to cut the deficit to 4-3. Junior Elizabeth Schmidt* (Montgomery, NY) added an assit on Fiorvanti's goal.
After another LU goal, freshman Gina Sparaco (Freeport, NY) tallied her first collegiate goal on a free position shot to make the score 5-4 with under ten minutes remaining in the first half. Lindenwood closed out first half scoring with their third 2-0 spurt of the game to hold a 7-4 lead at the break.
The Lady Lions opened the second half with a goal to complete a 3-0 run and take a 8-4 lead, before Schmidt recorded her first goal of the game off the assist from Traci Muniz (Middlesex, NJ) with just over 27 minutes to play.
Lindenwood then went on to score six consecutive goals to pull ahead 14-5 with 18:05 on the clock. Freshman attacker Allison Smithwick (Commack, NY) netted her third goal of the season to make the score 14-6 and later scored the final goal for the Lady Chargers with just over eleven minutes remaining to cut the lead to 16-7. From there, Lindenwood closed out the contest with eight unanswered goals for the 24-7 victory.

Veronica Iozzi (Chester, NJ) made four saves in the net in 37 minutes, while starter Dominique Labate (Bronx, NY) had one save in 23 minutes.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday, March 20th when they open up Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on the road at Holy Family University. Game time is set for 12pm.
