Philadelphia, PA (3/23/10) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team dropped their fourth straight game this afternoon to host Philadelphia University, 17-6, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
Philadelphia, PA (3/23/10) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team dropped their fourth straight game this afternoon to host Philadelphia University, 17-6, in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action.
The Rams (2-3, 2-0 CACC) quickly built up a 6-0 lead in the first half, en route to a 10-3 lead at the intermission. Sophomore Aubree Williams (Great Meadows, NJ) netted the unassisted goal with 10:01 left in the first half to get the Lady Chargers on the board. DC closed out the first half with two unanswered goals as junior Silje Karlsen (Vernon, NJ) tallied a goal and Williams recorded her second goal of the game.
Williams completed the hat trick with her third goal of the game with 24:48 left in regulation to make the score 11-4, but a 3-0 Philadelphia run put the Rams up 14-4. Karlsen converted a free position shot with just over sixteen minutes to play but another Ram run of 3-0 rebuilt a 17-5 lead. Karlsen completed her own hat trick with her third and the game's final goal with 2:21 remaining.
Lady Charger goalie Lindsey Grundfast (Saugerties, NY) made eight saves in the loss.
With the loss Dominican falls to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the CACC.
DC is back in action on Thursday when they travel to CACC opponent, Holy Family University.
