Philadelphia, PA (4/9/11) The Dominican College women's lacrosse team had a four-game winning streak snapped by host, Philadelphia University, 20-11 this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. With the loss Dominican now stands at 6-3 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

DC netted the game's first goal just 16 seconds into the contest as sophomore attacker Brianna Blank (Point Pleasant, NJ) scored her 18th goal of the season. A little over six minutes later senior Sarah Kiernan (Saugerties, NY) netted her 11th goal of the season off the assist from junior Aubree Williams (Great Meadows, NJ) to give the Lady Chargers a 2-0 lead.
a 3-0 run by the Rams put them up 3-2, but Carla Gimm (St. Peter's PA) netted her first goal of the season to tie the game at 3-3. Four consecutive goals by Philadelphia regained a 7-3 lead. With 0:56 seconds left before halftime, Kiernan netted her second goal of the game off the pass from freshman Maggie Brocklebank (Long Branch, NJ) to cut the deficit to 7-4. The Rams scored two more goals before the half to go up 9-4.
Dominican opened scoring in the second half as Silje Karlsen (Vernon, NJ) scored her first goal of the game to cut the lead to four goals, 9-5 with 28:47 left to play. Another 3-0 run by the Rams put them ahead 12-5, but Karlsen stopped the run with a free position goal with just under 23 minutes to play.
Trailing 13-6, the Lady Chargers netted back-to-back goals off the sticks of Kiernan off the assist from Elizabeth Schmidt (Montgomery, NY) and freshman Olivia Antonopoulos (Baldwin, NY) scored her second goal of the season to make the score 13-8. Three straight goals by the Rams regained a 16-8 lead, but Blank netted her second goal of the game with a man-down goal with 14:43 to play.
Karlsen converted a free position attempt to make the score 17-10 and DC's final goal of the game was scored by Williams as Philadelphia went on to the 18-11 victory.
Freshman goalie and CACC Rookie of the Week, Amanda Caprio (Point Pleasant, NJ), made nine saves in the loss.
