Three Other Lady Chargers Receive All-CACC Honors; Team Shares Sportsmanship Award

Orangeburg, NY (4/22/09)  Dominican College women's lacrosse player, Aubree Williams, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Year as was announced today.  Teammates Amanda Miller, Silje Karlsen and Amanda Matos were all named to the All-CACC Second Team and the team shares the Sportsmanship Award with Holy Family University.

Williams, a freshman from Great Meadows, NJ, leads the Lady Chargers with 42 points and 15 assists for a total of 57 points.  She is currently ranked 4th in the CACC in goals,fifth in assists, fourth in points per game (4.75), seventh in shots per game (7.50) and is tied for fifth in game winning goals.  She has also received CACC Rookie of the Week honors twice this season and earned a spot on the All-CACC First Team.

Miller, a junior defender from Copaigue, NY, has played in all 12 games this year as the anchor of the Lady Charger defense to lead the team with 31 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.

Karlsen, who hails from Vernon, NJ, is a sophomore midfielder who ranks third on the team with 23 goals and second with nine assists.  She ranks fifth in the CACC in shots per game (7.58) and is tied for second in draw controls per game (3.42).

Matos, a sophomore midfielder from Vernon, NJ, is second on the Lady Chargers with 36 goals and 37 points.  She ranks fifth in the CACC in goals, tenth in points per game (3.08) and third in shots per game (7.92).
