WOMEN'S LACROSSE DEFEATS HOLY FAMILY UNIVERSITY

Orangeburg, NY (4/3/09) Attacker Amanda Matos (Vernon, NJ) scored a game-high six goals to the lead the Dominican College women’s lacrosse team to a 20-12 win over Holy Family University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Thursday afternoon.
CACC Rookie of the Week, Aubree Williams (Great Meadows, NJ), led the Chargers with a seven-point effort (five goals, two assists). Junior Ashley Ordemann (Toms River, NJ) added four goals and one assist. Attacker Kelly Rocco (White Plains, NY) and defender Sarah Kiernan (Saugerties, NY) both scored twice in the win. Midfielder Silje Karlsen (Vernon, NJ) tacked on another goal. Goalie Lindsey Grunfast (Saugerties, NY) had 10 saves in the win.
Attack Jenn James (Philadelphia, PA) led Holy Family with four gaols and two assists for six points, while freshman Gina Mansi (Washington Twp., NJ) found the back of the net four times for the Tigers. Goalie Melissa Jenkins (Glenolden, PA) had 16 saves in the loss.
With the victory the Lady Chargers improve to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the CACC, while Holy Family University fall to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the CACC.
