KEAN UNIVERSITY DEFEATS DOMINICAN COLLEGE LADY CHARGERS LACROSSE

Union, NJ (04/02/08) Freshman attack Rosalia Romeo (Ridgewood, N.J.) recorded nine points to lead the Kean University women's lacrosse team to an 18-9 victory over visiting Dominican College on Wednesday evening.
Romeo had a game-high six goals and three assists for Kean (8-2), while junior midfielder Althea Chambers (Yonkers, N.Y.) led Dominican (1-6) with three goals.
The Cougars took a 9-5 lead at halftime, as Romeo and junior attack Stephanie Cirino (Warminster, Pa.) each scored three times.
In the second half, Kean extended the lead to 17-7 on Romeo's sixth goal of the game with 5:30 remaining en-route to their eighth victory of the season.
Cirino added five goals and two assists, while senior Alli Green (West Deptford, N.J.) added four goals and four caused turnovers. In goal, freshman Ashlie Berghold (Boyertown, Pa.) made 10 saves in the victory.
For Dominican, freshman Sara Kiernan (Saugerties,
N.Y.) scored twice and added an assist. Sophomore
keeper Lindsey Grundfast (Saugerties, N.Y.)
stopped eight shots for the Chargers.
