GEORGIAN COURT UNIVERSITY LIONS TURN BACK LADY CHARGERS LACROSSE

Orangeburg, NY (3/31/08) The visiting Lions of Georgian Court University turned back the Dominican College Lady Chargers, 24-3 this afternoon on the DC Lacrosse Field.

The Lions used a 12-0 run in the final 19:56 of the first half en route to a 15-2 lead at the intermission and closed out the game with a 5-0 run for the 24-3 victory.

Lauren Flaherty (Howell, NJ) and Ryan McGrath (Manasquan, NJ) led the Lions with four goals a piece, while Lauren Conaty (Pt. Pleasant, NJ), Kara Sanford (Pine Beach, NJ) and Allison Abbate (Oceanport, NJ) each netted three goals a piece in the win. Three other Lions had two goals each and one had one goal.

Lauren Housel (Caldwell, NJ) led the team with six assists.

Sara Kiernan (Saugerties, NY), Amanda Matos (Vernon, NY) and Althea Chambers (Yonkers, NY) had each of the Lady Charger goals.

Jessica Bianchi (East Islip, NY), Silje Karlsen (Vernon, NJ) and Amanda Miller (Copaige, NY) had the Lady Charger assists.

Linsday Grundfast (Saugerties, NY) had 24 saves for the Lady Chargers.

With the win, GCU improves to 4-2 overall, while DC falls to 1-5.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Kean University. Game time is set for 7pm.
