Blauvelt, NY (04/18/07) The Dominican College women’s lacrosse team dropped a home game to Ramapo College of New Jersey, 15-6 this afternoon at the DC Lacrosse Field.
RCNJ opened up the game on a 4-0 run, before Althea Chambers (Yonkers, NY) got DC on the board. Ashley Ordemann (Toms River, NJ) brought the Lady Chargers within three with a free position goal to make the score 5-2 with 7:27 remaining in the half.
Dominican made a run to start the second half with three unanswered goals, two by Ordemann and one by Jen Rothenheusen (Queens, NY) to cut the Roadrunner lead to 7-5 before RCNJ went on an 8-1 run en route to the 15-6 victory.
Ashely King (Flemington, NJ) led Ramapo with four goals, while Evey Rutledge
(Plainsboro, NJ) had three goals and one assist. Tara Gray (Howell, NJ), Sarah Clayton (Howell, NJ) and Jennifer Hoch (Wayne, NJ) all had two goals a piece in the win.
For the Lady Chargers, Ordemann finished with three goals, while Chambers and Rothenheusen each had a goal.
Megan Tierney (Wayne, NJ) picked up the win for the Roadrunners with four saves.
DC goalie Lindsey Grundfast (Saugerties, NY) got the loss as she recorded 10 saves.
With the win, RCNJ improves to 3-2 on the year, while DC falls to 0-4.
The Lady Chargers are back in action on Thursday, April 19th when they host St. Thomas Aquinas College at 4:00 pm on the DC Lacrosse Field.
