Wilmington Wildcats Upend Lady Chargers Lacrosse, 19-2 

Blauvelt, NY (04/11/07)          The Dominican College women’s lacrosse team dropped a home game to Wilmington College, 19-2 this afternoon at the DC Lacrosse Field.

The Wildcats opened up the game with nine straight goals, until freshman Ashley Ordemann (Toms River, NJ) scored a free position goal to make the score 9-1.  Wilmington then went on a 5-0 run to extend their lead to 14-1 until sophomore Althea Chambers (Yonkers, NY) converted another free position shot with 0:05 seconds left in the first half to make the score 14-2. 

In the second half, Colby Bugda (Abingdon, MD) led the Wildcats with two goals as their en route to the 19-2 victory.

Sophomore Kelly Wojciechowski (Baltimore, MD) led Wilmington with five goals and two assists.  Bugda finished the game with four goals and a team leading three assists.  Three Wildcat players had two goals each, while three others each had a goal in the win. 

Amber Smith (Aberdeen, MD) picked up the win for the Wildcats with five saves. 

DC goalie Lindsey Grundfast (Saugerties, NY) got the loss as she recorded 21 saves.

The Lady Chargers are back in action on Wednesday, April 18th when they host Ramapo College at 3:30 pm on the DC Lacrosse Field.
