LADY CHARGERS DOWN FELICIAN COLLEGE

Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/21/13) The Dominican College women's basketball team downed the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College, 72-47, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 10-6 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/21/13)  The Dominican College women's basketball team downed the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician College, 72-47, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.  With the win, Dominican improves to 10-6 overall and 7-2 in the conference.

The Lady Chargers never trailed in the game, despite shooting just 28.6% (16-56) from the floor and were just 2-11 (18.2%) from the free throw line.  DC had a slight 6-4 lead with just over 14 minutes to play in the first stanza and used a 12-4 run to gain a ten-point lead, 18-8 with 9:40 on the clock.  The team led by as many as 13 points (34-21) and went into the break with a 36-27 lead.

In the second half, DC extended the lead lead to 20 points (55-35) with 10:49 to go and never looked back en route to the 72-47 victory.

Junior forward KC Jentzen (Pearl River, N.Y.) led three Lady Chargers in double-figures with 18 points (7-15 from the floor) and added five rebounds and four steals.

Senior Bianca Harris* (Teaneck, N.J.) tallied 15 points, grabbed a team leading nine rebounds, four assists and four steals in the win.

Freshman Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) netted 15 poitns and five rebounds off the bench, while LaShonda Hathorne (Queens, N.Y.) scored nine points.

Dominican will take on Post University on Wednesday evening.
