WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DOWN CALDWELL COLLEGE

(11/28/12) The Dominican College women's basketball team improved to 2-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play after downing the visiting Cougars of Caldwell College, 73-57, this evening in a game played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the victory, the Lady Chargers improve to 4-3 overall.

With the victory, the Lady Chargers improve to 4-3 overall.
Caldwell led 18-14 with 10:15 remaining in the first half when the Lady Chargers went on an 11-5 run to go ahead 25-23 with just over two minutes to go. Senior guard Lindsey Lopez* (Elmwood Park, N.J.) closed out the half with two free throws to give DC a 27-25 edge at the break.
A 12-2 run by Dominican to open the second half extended the lead to double-digits (39-27) and they would lead by as many as 13 points twice in the half. The Cougars cut the lead to seven five times in the second stanza, but would get no further as the Lady Chargers scored the final seven points of the game en route to eh 73-57 victory.
Lopez led the Lady Chargers with 18 points (4-8 from the trhee point arc).
Forward KC Jentzen (Pearl River, N.Y.) tallied the double-double of 15 points and 11 boards. LaShonda Hathorne (Queens, N.Y.) and Shannon Lavelle* (Floral Park, N.Y.) each scored 13 points in the win.
Senior Bianca Harris* (Teaneck, N.J.) grabbed a game-leading 12 rebounds.
DC is back in action on Saturday as they travel to CACC opponent, Holy Family University.
