WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHARGES PAST CONCORDIA CLIPPERS
Bronxville, N.Y. (11/14/12) The Dominican College women's basketball team charged past host, Concordia College, 64-53, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played at the Meyer Athletic Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while the Clippers fall to 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in the CACC.

Senior guard Shannon Lavelle* (Floral Park, N.Y.) paced the Lady Chargers with 13 points, scoring 11 of those points in the second half as she shot 50% from the three point arc.
KC Jentzen (Pearl River, N.Y.) recorded the double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds, while LaShonda Hathorne (Queens, N.Y.) also had 10 (5-10 from the floor) points in the win.
Center Bianca Harris* (Teaneck, N.J.) grabbed a game leading 13 rebounds and rookie Deja Gabbidon (Teaneck, N.J.) came off the bench to score nine points, shooting 4-8 from the floor.
Dominican trailed 9-4 early in the first half, but came back to outscore Concordia, 17-5, over the next five minutes to pull ahead 21-14. DC increased the lead to double-digits as junior Nicole Welton (Southbury, Conn.) scored a layup to make the score 32-19 and the team went into the break with a 34-24 advantage.
DC led by as many as 17 points three times in the second half, the last being a 64-47 lead with 1:41 on the clock en route to the 64-53 victory.
Dominican totaled 30 points in the paint and scored 24 points off Concordia turnovers.
The Lady Chargers are back in action on Friday as they host the 1st Annual Daniel Sullivan Memorial Basketball Tournament. DC takes on Merrimack College at 8pm on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.
