WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ADVANCES TO CACC SEMI-FINALS
Wilmington, DE (2/25/12) The Dominican College women's basketball team, the third seed in the north division, upset the south division's second seed, Goldey-Beacom College, 48-46, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contest played at Goldey-Beacom College. With the win, Dominican advances to the CACC Semi-Finals to be played on Friday, March 2nd hosted by Caldwell College.

Dominican held a 16-9 lead with 10:49 to go in the first half when the Lightning went on an 18-5 run to go up 27-21 and had a slight 27-25 lead at the intermission.
The Lady Chargers opened up second half play with eight straight points to regain a 33-27 lead and led 47-40 with 1:47 to go. GBC closed out the game with a 6-1 spurt but DC held on for the 48-46 win.
Sisters Samantha Klunk (York, PA) and Marley Klunk (York, PA) led the Lady Chargers with 11 points a piece in the victory, while M. Klunk added eight rebounds.
Guard Shannon Lavelle* (Floral Park, NY) tallied a team leading nine rebounds.
DC returns to action on Friday evening when they take on University of the Sciences, the fourth seed in the south division in a CACC Semi-Final contest to be hosted by Caldwell College. Tip-off is slated for 7pm.
