POST UNIVERSITY EDGES LADY CHARGERS BASKETBALL
Waterbury, CT (1/5/12) The Post University women's basketball team hit a jump shot with 0:14 seconds remaining in the second half to lead the team to a 65-63 victory over Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Dominican College, this evening in a game played at the Drubner Center. Following the loss, Dominican stands at 4-6 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

Following the loss, Dominican stands at 4-6 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
Tied early in the first half at 6-6, the Lady Chargers went on a 9-0 run to build up a 15-6 lead with 12:28 remaining in the first stanza and extended the lead to 30-19 with 5:25 on the clock after a layup by center Bianca Harris (Teaneck, NJ). The Eagles came back with a 10-1 run to cut the deficit to 31-29 at the intermission.
The beginning of the second half saw Dominican up four points, but Post once again came back to tie the contest at 37-37 would later hold a 55-48 lead. Back-to-back treys by guard Shannon Lavelle* (Floral Park, NY) cut the lead to a single point (55-54) with 4:34 to play and Harris would later tie the game twice at 61 and 63. Lashonda Hathorne (Queens, NY) went 2-2 from the charity stripe with 27 ticks left on the clock for the tenth tie score of the game (63-63), but the Eagles netted a layp with 14 seconds for the 65-63 win.
Harris led the Lady Chargers with 21 points and six rebounds. Senior Marley Klunk (York, PA) added 10 points and five caroms, while KC Jentzen (Nanuet, NY) tallied nine points and six boards off the bench.
DC is back in action on Saturday when they host CACC opponent, Georgian Court University, at the Hennessy Center. Game time is slated for 1pm.
