LADY CHARGERS BASKETBALL RALLY TO DEFEAT BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE
Bloomfield, NJ (12/6/11) The Dominican College women's basketball team rallied from a 43-32 deficit at halftime to defeat host, Bloomfield College, 69-65, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division game. With the victory, DC improves to 3-4 overall and 3-0 in the CACC, while Bloomfield falls to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

With the victory, DC improves to 3-4 overall and 3-0 in the CACC, while Bloomfield falls to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Dominican trailed 13-11 with 11:39 remaining in the first half, when the Deacon offense came alive with a 14-4 run built up a 23-12 lead. The Lady Chargers cut the deficit to a basket (34-32) with 3:29 to go, but the Deacons closed out first half play with nine straight points for a 43-32 lead.
The Lady Chargers charged back in the second half, as they started things off with a 16-4 run to take a 48-47 advantage with 12:47 remaining in regulation. Two Deacon free throws cut the DC lead to 64-63 with 41 seconds to play, but forced to foul Dominican closed out the contest going 5-6 from the charity stripe for the 69-65 victory.
Sophomore forward KC Jentzen (Pearl River, NY) came off the bench to lead four Lady Chargers in double digits with 15 points and added six rebounds. Bianca Harris (Teaneck, NJ) added 12 points and seven caroms, while Lindsey Lopez (Elmwood Park, NJ) and Shannon Lavelle (Floral Park, NJ) each netted 11 points a piece and combined for nine assists. Marley Klunk (York, PA) had seven boards and a team leading three steals.
DC returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Goldey-Beacom College for a 1pm CACC contest.
